This track was written when I was sitting in my living room. The house was really quiet and the sun had just begun to set. We have this rocking chair that has yellow, floral fabric all over it. I plopped down in the chair and began strumming and forming some chords. At the time, I was struggling with loneliness. Slowly, these cars would pass on down the road as I watched out the front window. But, all the while I was thinking to myself: 'These cars are going somewhere; I won't be.' Pretty sad stuff. The music by itself is actually happy sounding, though. I love contrast like that. Usually feelings and thoughts are so complex it's hard to pinpoint things. Having the music sound happier and the lyrics more sullen allows the song to paint a better canvas of how I was in that moment. In the end, the song took about a half hour to finish writing. It was a quicker one. My hope is that for people feeling the same way as me, the song will bring them comfort that they're not alone. Cause' that's the dangerous part. They're really not. Loneliness is a choice, I've learned. You just gotta open your eyes to see it.

lyrics
I go through this all the time.
I go through this most every night;
Not that I like that.
It's gets harder day by day.
It's the same feeling most every way;
Not that I want that.
On my own,
Sitting here watching the cars go by.
When I'm alone,
Like it or not they keep going by.
One car, two car, three cars go,
Past my horizon to where who knows;
Not that I'll be there.
It's so familiar in my day.
It's not peculiar, not so strange;
Not in a bad way.
On my own,
Sitting here watching the cars go by.
When I'm alone,
Like it or not they keep going by.
They keep going by.
In my head I go through my,
Problems at a time.
Numbered by the kind;
Not that I like that.
